The Stuart Fraser Thomson Foundation
The Stuart Fraser-Thomson foundation is committed to raising funds in order to fund mobility solutions for terminally ill patients. These are people who prefer to spend their final weeks in their own home with their family and friends, rather than have to go into hospice because they have become unable to move around the house. We provide the funds to Ashgate Hospice who have a team of dedicated staff working in the North Derbyshire area. The patients are assessed and funds are released to pay for stair lifts and ramps, greatly enhancing the quality of life for the patient and their carers through for the remainder of their lives.
Fountain Square Physiotherapy team have entered TOUGH MUDDER. This is a team-oriented 10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit which includes obstacles such as underwater tunnels, electroshock therapy, ring of fire, Everest, mud mile and cry baby (tear gas tent) to name but a few. The event takes place on 1st August at Broughton Hall, Skipton and we are taking part to raise money for The Stuart Fraser-Thomson Foundation which, under the instruction of Ashgate Hospice, provides stair lifts and ramps for terminally ill patients to enable them to spend their remaining days at their home, rather than a hospice.
