We have an MBE and paralympic gold medalist for cycling in our midst here at Fountain Square Physio so we thought we should put him to good use!
Anthony Kappes, MBE is now holding his new static cycling course in the spinning studio here at the practice.
If you’re looking for some structured training on a static bike then this could be for you. An intensive but varied series of sessions that target both cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength. No rain, no mud, no punctures & no traffic. Suitable for all shapes, sizes and abilities.
The sessions are themed on a ‘virtual’ bike ride of the local area, incorporating climbs, descents and (a bit of) flat terrain. This allows the rider to experience varying levels of torque (muscle strength) and cadence (pedalling speed). The sessions are structured to ensure they are challenging but achievable to deliver a good cardio-vascular workout & they vary every week. The sessions attract non-bike riders and bike riders of various abilities. They also include discussion on bike riding, technique, nutrition and general fitness. Each session is 45 minutes long which includes a warm-up and warm-down – the actual effort is a non-stop 35 minutes. There is no music and there is no shouting!
The classes are currently held on a Thursday at 5pm and 6pm at a cost of £8.00.
To save your place in the class just call the practice on 01663 764864 and we can book you in.
We look forward to seeing you in the practice soon.
