Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic therapy; it works on the principal that there are reflex points in the feet that correspond to the different systems within the body. It involves a method of treatment using massage and pressure techniques to these specific reflex points on the feet, by applying pressure to these areas any blockages that have built up on the nerve endings can be released. Then the body’s own healing processes are stimulated which can help to restore balance to the body and mind.

Benefits are:

A reduction in stress and tension

Improves Blood Circulation and lymphatic system

Activates the body’s own healing abilities to restore equilibrium

Useful as a preventative therapy to maintain good health

. Hormonal Imbalances – including Menopausal issues and Menstrual problems

. Chronic Health Conditions – e.g., Chronic pain conditions, Fibromyalgia and post viral effects

. Insomnia

. Stress related conditions including Depression and anxiety.

Who is It Suitable for?

Most people can have reflexology, there are some contra indications to the treatment including early Pregnancy, any Blood Clotting issues I.e., Thrombosis and a history of Heart attacks or Strokes. A full consultation is taken, including a medical history prior to the treatment to determine suitability and number of treatments required.

Other Facts

Most people feel calm and relaxed after the treatment and often report having a good night’s sleep. As Reflexology stimulates a healing response people can experience a mild healing reaction such as going to the toilet more often, this is due to the body’s elimination systems being stimulated to release toxins these are usually quite mild and pass within 24-48 hours.
